Technical Project Management (TPM) Team Lead

VIMAAN is looking to hire a Technical Project Management Team Lead to join our exceptional team, build out and lead the technical project management organization. Your team will be responsible for end-to-end deployment of high performance, highly available and scalable hardware and software systems at our customer sites. You will work with cross-functional teams dispersed across time zones that includes applications, field engineers, full stack engineers, computer vision and machine learning engineers, firmware and hardware engineers, sales engineers, to understand customer needs, define workflows, configure existing Vimaan CVML, SW and FW platforms to allow for fast deployment and scale. You will help architect and build our internal frameworks for processes, organizational handoffs for delivery and partner with cross functional organizations to create deployment playbooks for Vimaan’s new products. You will collaborate extensively with customers and executive management to build and ship key features. You will drive milestones, risks, schedules and budgets to set and manage expectations from all stakeholders.

TPM Team Lead Responsibilities

  • Organizational Leadership: Build and lead a team of highly talented Technical Project Leads (TPLs), Site Ops Leads and Field Operators.

  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex deployment cycles from contract closure, product deployment, acceptance testing, scaling across multiple products and systems and continued delivery to meet SLA and other contractual obligations.

  • As a TPM Team Lead you manage your and the teams project goals, contribute to product and operational strategy and help develop your team.

  • Own all aspects of the post sales customer experience.

  • Architect, design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable processes for smooth deployment and exceptional service delivery in the field.

  • Present product and operational proposals for continuous improvement projects, designs, competitive analysis, technology analysis, case studies, incident management and issue resolution, escalation post-mortem, etc. to executive staff

  • Ensure frameworks are available to TPLs and site ops for managing project timelines, customer communications, analyzing current and future risks, provide technical and business assessment tools for efficient communication to stakeholders.

  • Lead milestone reviews and present project status to the executive team.

  • Ensure teams create detailed WBS with verifiable milestones and time estimates and deliver projects within estimates

  • Constructively collaborate with the team during requirements gathering, delivery specification, timeline estimation and resource planning.

  • Benchmark performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot and improve system performance

  • Institute process to track and monitor plans vs actuals for delivery, procurement, resource management, budget, quality for all post-sales deployment and service delivery milestones and metrics.

  • Work with data analysts to use KPIs and dashboards for the team to showcase achievements and opportunities for improvements through dashboards

  • Hands-on program management with key accounts and projects as needed

TPM Team Lead Qualifications

  • BS or MS in an engineering field with 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Team-first attitude motivated by helping team members succeed

  • Self-motivated and self-managed

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow team members

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Bonus for experience in engineering management, Project management certification, currently performing a TPM leadership role.

How to Stand Out

  • Experience in supply chain, warehousing, ecommerce and retail industry

  • Experience with products in Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV), industrial automation and robotics, or warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Experience with field and operations management of a fleet, deployment of connected devices and sensors, SaaS products

  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of each stakeholder’s perspective and motivations, map them to the desired outcomes, and cultivate buy-in

  • Experience with collaborative software program management, documentation and issue management tools – Asana, Jira, Gitlab, Confluence, etc.

  • Experience with workflow management systems

  • Self motivated and self managed
