What we need

Symbotic is seeking an Operations Manager to support operations and production management at our Brooksville, FL customer distribution center site. This role partners closely with the Senior Automation General Manager to oversee daily site operations, provide hands-on leadership to site-based team members, and ensure high levels of productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading Symbotic teams and contingent labor, driving operational excellence, upholding quality and safety standards, and achieving financial and performance targets. The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, proven operations management experience, a solid understanding of automation, and a strong commitment to data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

What we do

The Operations Manager is part of the site operations team, which is part of the Customer Operations organization. The Customer Operations organization is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Symbotic’s robotic material handling system. The Customer Operations organization drives operational excellence by engaging and partnering with our onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety and system performance.

What you’ll do

  • Manage automation and production operations at the customer site by conducting performance assessments, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to ensure consistent, efficient operations.

  • Oversee contingent labor at the site, including onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and alignment to operational objectives.

  • Leverage data analytics and operational metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, process optimization, and labor productivity enhancements.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members to foster a positive, high-performance work environment that drives accountability, engagement, and growth.

  • Communicate and execute operating plan targets, action plans, and status updates in alignment with the plan of record.

  • Partner with the Senior General Manager to support budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.

  • Monitor progress against operational goals and provide clear, data-driven reporting to customers and internal cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by upholding quality standards, delivering exceptional service, and resolving customer concerns in a timely manner.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies by reinforcing a strong safety culture and adherence to established protocols.

  • Support and develop team members through coaching, training, and leadership to enhance individual performance and career growth.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center environment.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or people-management experience.

  • Experience managing contingent labor and leveraging data analytics to improve operational efficiency strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Strong foundational knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.

  • Ability to work independently while following established maintenance procedures and technical manuals.

  • Demonstrates a positive and professional response to feedback and recognition.

  • High sense of urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Our Environment

  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.

  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.

  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

  • At times you may be at a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).

  • Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.

  • Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Where you may need to be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $87,000.00 - $119,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
