Location:

This position can be based either within commuting distance of our Salem, OR headquarters or remotely in the San Francisco Bay Area. For remote candidates, regular travel to Salem, typically 1 week per month, will be required.

About the Role

The SCPM will be tasked with working directly with the VP of Supply Chain to create an overall strategy for the OPM team while executing on the goals needed to build and successfully launch new robots. As a collaborator, the SCPM will work with key cross-functional team leads, including Hardware and Software Design Engineering, Component Suppliers, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Finance to drive the strategic direction to launch and manufacture on time with operational excellence.

About the Work

  • Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and Technical Program Managers to define Key Performance Indicators and Product Requirement Documents to enable successful architecture and design releases to enable the sourcing of components and manufacture of robots.
  • Provides links from the Supply Chain & Engineering Teams to the Manufacturing team in the Robofab.
  • Drive supplier readiness, working closely with contract manufacturers (CMs) and module suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality components.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity during critical ramp phases.
  • Leverage technical expertise to drive engineering and the supply chain team to meet program cost targets at a product and commodity level for your project.
  • Ensure the successful launch of products towards meeting its stated cost, quality, schedule, and availability goals.
  • Lead manufacturing ramp readiness with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and other internal and external teams.
  • Liaison across multiple cross-functional teams to ensure product cost, manufacturability, reliability, product quality, safety and compliance, and go-to-market strategies are met.
  • Assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicate risk and status clearly and succinctly to management, calling out key issues and presenting options for resolution to the cross-functional executive team through the new product reviews and other executive forums.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Sourcing Team to ensure partner selection is being optimized to support product requirements.

About You

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Program Management/NPI role in the high tech manufacturing industry; 3 years of leadership experience managing a team is a plus
  • Deep knowledge in Operations and Supply Chain, Design and Industrial Engineering
  • Proven project management and PLM system experience; Windchill proficiency a plus
  • Experience working with and managing external suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Self starter, who is capable of working independently and as a team member
  • Problem solving, analytical and communication experience with attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize impact
  • Cross-functional leadership experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated executive presence
